General FAQs

What else does The Abbie do besides shelter?

A lot!

We run a 24-hour hotline (called the Violence Free Crisis Line) for anyone who has been victimized by a violent crime, needs domestic violence services, or who has questions about how to support a family member.

We do Court Advocacy – our victim advocate helps people with their orders of protection and supports them through court processes

We offer FREE counseling – individual AND group, for adults AND children

We do community education – for over 2000 adults and teens per year!

How do I access services or get information?

Call the Violence Free Crisis Line: 752-7273.

What if I have a business related question?

Call our office: 752-4735

Do you have volunteers?

Yes, we couldn’t run the hotline without them! Volunteers also help us with office work, shelter maintenance, the yard… anything. If you’re interested, call our office at 752-4735.

Do you need donated goods?

Of course! We are always in need of towels, hair conditioner, and the gift of a home-cooked meal for the families in shelter. We do NOT need or accept clothing, and we ask that you bring clothing to our friends at Flathead Industries Thrift (and then they let our gals shop there for free!). For other needed items, see our Wish List. Donations can be dropped off at the Flathead Beacon office at 17 N. Main Street in downtown Kalispell.
